A seasoned staff with years of experience. You will find from our Admissions Advisors to our CDL Instructors, we all have years of industry experience. We have been told often by graduates we act like a family and treat our students like part of the family. We have the flexibility to adjust our training to meet ever-changing industry standards.
Our story started in 2001 when we opened in Shepherdsville, KY by a couple who was rooted in trucking. However, we're not just a 'mom and pop CDL Shop.' Using their expertise and connections they had forged in the industry; they formed Truck America Training and perfected our course offerings and training techniques to become a leading CDL A school in the Louisville area.
Truck America's comprehensive 160 hour Class A CDL Training Program is conducted at our facility just south of Louisville, KY. This program provides future drivers with the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) skills to begin a career as a professional truck driver. Our outstanding instructors can provide the hands-on training and the CDL knowledge needed to properly and safely operate a truck.
Our 160-hour (3-1/2 weeks) CDL A program is designed for students to learn and exercise the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) skills of operating as an over-the-road, regional, dedicated or local driver. The first week is in a classroom. You will be studying for your CDL A permit and learn the basics of safe driving.

They set you up for success to begin your journey into the trucking industry. If you pay attention, and perform manuevers exactly how they teach you, you will pass! Also cannot count how many job offers ive had throughout the time at the school. Companies know their training is the real deal. Outstanding instructors. Also automatics are for sissys.

What an amazing experience i had at this school. They got the best instructors, especially Mr. Big Daddy Dale. I gotta tell you, he's the best along with CK too. They're all excellent but the more time you'll spend with those two, the better chance you give yourself to ace your road test. Oh! How can I forget Ms Ann who made possible for me to pass my permit test. Thanks everyone at TATraining.

I'm currently on my 3rd week of the school. The entire experience has been amazing and enjoyable. They help you a long the way with everything, everything to helping get your hotel room and getting you ready for the road. Management in front office is as kind as you can find and the instructors are amazing. They genuinely care about you and you getting your CDLs. I've made some friends for life. Just completed the 40 hour refresher course. Could not have had a better experience. After not being behind the wheel and the wheels turning for a few years found out it's still there. Plenty of range, road and skills practicing. Staff has the knowledge to ensure you leave with the tools needed to be successful. Yes they will put you in situations where it will make you think, so why not have them happen while training and figure them out before they happen on the road and you lose it.
So if your looking for a great school to get you ready for the road or just one to refresh your capabilities and make you a better driver / professional cargo hauler this is the place to be.
