So happy we chose A-1 for our teen! We had a great experience - from the initial setup to the six hours of driving instruction to the actual test, everything was seamless. Having the instructor come to us was so convenient and my child learned a lot. Likewise, when it was time to take the actual exam Jim was super helpful and gave her the confidence she needed to pass her test. The company took care of our paperwork and forms and made the whole experience as stress-free as possible. I highly recommend this team!

The instructor that was assigned to me, Joe, was extremely unprofessional throughout the entirety of my lesson. He talked about politics, his dating life, his divorce, how a teenager died in a car accident in the area we were driving in, and other inappropriate topics. As you could imagine, this was distracting and over-all stressful for a completely new driver.
As soon as I got home from my lesson, I broke down and had a panic attack from the anxiety that built up from the whole lesson. I called the owner of the company, Jim, about this and after I told him everything that happened, he didn't apologize for his employee's behavior or express any compassion for that terrible experience. I cannot vouch for any of the instructors but I know the one I had was horrendous. I'm not only disappointed with my instructor's behavior by Jim's reaction to the whole ordeal.

Highly recommend! I used them today for a refresher class before the road test. Ease setting up the appt with the owner, who is friendly. Today we had instructor was Joe. We loved him! Personable, funny, kept my child calm and at ease. I wish I used this place for the 6 hours behind the wheel because Sussex Driving school was not good. Son didn't feel comfortable with that instructor and didn't learn much. We both feel Joe at A1 peck would have been amazing for it.

I live in Basking Ridge and although it is a little far it is completely worth it! The level of professionalism is outstanding and being located around the corner from the DMV is a hidden bonus! My 16 year old son took the 6 hour course, along with refresher course the day before his test and past the first time with no issues! He also took the written exam here and used their school car for the driving test! Absolutely top-notch! Would highly recommend! A++

I recommend everybody to practice driving at A1 Peck Driving School! My instructor Joe Cronk helped me focus on my flaws I had with driving and I felt a lot more comfortable at the wheel thanks to him! I can't recommend A1 enough for how much you learn behind the wheel and how comfortable I felt after taking the 2 driving lessons! Joe if your reading this, thank you for everything you've done to make me a better driver!

Had a wonderful experience with A-1 Peck Driving School. Joe was incredibly helpful and patient with me during my 6 hours. The refresher for my driver's test that I scheduled with Joe made me incredibly confident. Jim was also very helpful in calming my nerves prior to my driver's test. They are all very nice and helpful and was a wonderful experience.

This post is somewhat delayed, but a big thumbs up to A-1 Peck Driving School for assisting my son secure his 16 year old learners permit. No doubt covid screwed up so much for so many. Unfortunately, my son was in the cross hairs when it came time to get his permit. Having missed the opportunity to take his written in school, once the schools shut down on March of 2020, his fate was in the hands of DMV.
We started off with another driving school who assured us that DMV was reopening and they would be able to assist son in getting tested. Needless to say, dates kept getting pushed further and further away, with no promise of getting him behind the wheel. Luckily I came across A-1 Peck and the light at the end of the tunnel appeared minutes after speaking with Jim, more than I did in dealing with months at the previous school.
When shopping around for driving schools, a key question to ask is do they administer the vision test or the written test at their facility, or do they require you to go to DMV for such test. Post covid, the horror stories are relentless at DMV . Without having to go to a special vision DMV vision center, I was able to make an Appointment for both the written test and vision test at their home office on Route 46 in Kenvil, New Jersey.
Unlike DMV, there were no crowds to contend with and just as important, the process began as soon as we walked in. While this alone won me over, as I was waiting, I looked around the office and realized how long A-1 Peck has been rooted in the community. It was truly a family run business that has been established in Morris County for over 55 years and has guided over 100,000 students.
What took months with the previous school, took only a short time before my son was finally able to start his 6 hours of instruction. Once he secured the six hours, he had the permit in hand, and we were able to cruise. I cant forget that the lessons were awesome and kudos are in order for this step as well. So with that, when researching the perfect school what is more important? Is it the low price one school may offer, or is it the over services that may be provided.
In my opinion, avoiding DMV made chosing A-1 Peck during thos pandemic well worth it. The topping on the cake was the great customer service and the fact that this company has been around for such a long time. I will also add that during the transition of schools, admittedly I called Jim several times while paperwork was being transferred and he was just as happy to speak with me as if it was his first time speaking with me even though I was calling multiple times. So with that, please give A-1 Peck a call for your driving school needs.

I had the BEST experience with this driving school. I came home from college and had two weeks to learn how to drive and pass my test. With the help of Jim in two weeks I learned how to drive and passed my test! One of the drivers named Terry even drove me to my test! Also the owner is very nice and helpful! I can't say enough good things about these guys! You won't regret choosing these guys!
