Complete our DMV Approved California Driver's Ed Course, pass our Test and receive your official DMV Certificate of Completion shipped by US mail. Take this certificate to the DMV, pass their written test and receive your California Driving Permit. Online classes have the additional benefit of increasing parental involvement in their teen's learning process, which has been shown to be an important factor in teen safety.
To earn your California provisional instruction permit, any minor must be at least 15, but under 18 years of age and have completed a DMV approved driver education course, like MyCaliforniaPermit.com, and have received your DMV Certificate of Completion of Driver Education - DL400C. Once you are at least 15 1/2 years of age, you can take the DMV's provisional (under 18) written instruction permit knowlege test at a DMV office to get your instruction permit.See the instruction permit page on the DMV website for current requirements.
After you have held your driving permit for 5 months, and you feel ready to take the "behind-the-wheel" driving test, make a DMV appointment by calling 1-800-777-0133 or make a DMV appointment online (select the Behind-the-Wheel Drive Test option). The California DMV computers only schedule 30 days in advance and appointments tend to fill up - so start early.

Above and beyond customer service. I purchased this course for my daughter, and unknowingly she purchased it again. I emailed late at night on a Friday and by the next morning, they'd refunded me for the duplicate course. My daughter did the online program and never received her certificate. I was looking for a number to call and could not find one, it said to email them. I emailed them and I had a response immediately. They resend the certificate. Im guessing due to covid it may have been lost. Regardless of the inconvenience they went above and beyond to respond in a timely matter and took care of the issue. Thank you!

This was fast and easy to understand. I liked how I could take my time through the lessons without having to register first. My Driving School instructor recommended them to me because they appreciate what the students learn before they get in the car with them. I'm driving now and feel good about it.
