1st Drive

My teacher was Jessica. She is super nice and helped me learn a lot. I’m a better driver now because she taught me what to do and defensive driving.

They helped me with my first son and it went wonderful! From the very first step to the end was smooth. Signing my next child up soon.

I came here the other day for my drivers test, Randy is a nice guy but over exaggerates way too much. He failed me for the dumbest things. I retook my test today at American Driving Academy and did the exact same thing I did at first drive with randy and passed with no points. Randy said that I would run someone over if I kept driving and that I would not survive one winter. I do not recommend this place, Randy specifically is not a good tester.

I have **never** had a more unprofessional experience than what I just experienced at 1st Drive. The test instructor, Heather, verbally assaulted my 17yo daughter in front of me without any degree of productive or constructive feedback. She was combative and extremely -- EXTREMELY -- hostile. To a 17yo girl. Saying things like "I cannot believe you would drive like that on a driving test" and "that was the worst test I've ever been on," then becoming immediately argumentative the second a question was raised regarding conflicting accounts of the experience.

Obviously, a parent is going to defend their child, but this wasn't my first time ushering a teenager into the world of driving.

My oldest daughter used 1st Drive a couple of years ago and received feedback on areas to improve upon, despite having passed the test. The outlandish claims this instructor made about the test experience simply do not align with the past year spent driving with my daughter; their accounts of what happened are as if they got into completely different cars.

But it's not even about that. If Heather had provided actual, actionable, constructive feedback for her to improve while still feeling compelled to fail her, then fine. Instead, she launched into a full verbal and emotional assault on my daughter right in front of me (AND one of her own coworkers, who said nothing to halt or correct her throughout the entire tirade). "That was the scariest drive I've been on" -- well maybe if riding with teenagers through Colorado Springs on Acadamy Blvd is so scary for you that you can't act like an effing ADULT much less an INSTRUCTOR upon your return, you're in the wrong GD business.

I just... I just still cannot ***believe*** how unprofessional of an experience that was. How can someone have the job of instructor or tester and be given access to teenagers who are already going to be nervous/anxious about the experience, and then eviscerate them over their performance as if it was an attack on _their_ person to have just been in the car with them?

To not have an ounce of tact or empathy for another person, much less a teenager? To be so embarrassingly miserable and terrible at their job that the only way they can feel better is to rip into a child?

1st Drive, shame on you for continuing to employ such a person. I truly hope no one has to experience the assault we just did.

My daughter went to 1st drive for her driver license! Instructor was so kind and very easy to understand! The best in my eyes! My daughter passed her license and my son is going tomorrow for his test! I highly recommend 1st drive!

Randy was Awesome! He made my daughter feel confident and safe. He was very clear with instructions. She did mess up a few times. I asked him for feedback so that she coukd practice more! I could tell he has been doing this for years and has a heart for teens! I would recommend 1st Dive to any and everyone. My other 5 children will be going to 1st Drive in the future! It was such a warm and friendly atmosphere. Felt like family the moment we walked it. Thank again to Randy and his team!

Hi, I just did my Colorado road test with 1st Drive LLC, and I wanted say what a good experience it was. The instructor, Randy, was very nice, and communicated the instructions before and during the test drive in a very clear and professional way. The drive tester got on my son for driving too fast in a residential area when he was following the speed limit. He then marked him off 4 times for something so petty that no one in this country should have a license. Nobody has ever been pulled over for this offense. He even avoided an accident when he was cut off during his test! Are you kidding me?!

My son didn't get his licence because the tester was petty. The woman with the tattoos is awesome though. And I truly appreciate her help. Shanon? I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names. You are the best part of that company as far as I've seen.

First drive does an amazing job of teaching teens the in's and out's of driving. Staff is helpful and very nice. They provided us with all of the info we needed to get our daughter her driver's license. I highly recommend first drive.

Thank you for a great experience getting my permit. The Home Study course was enjoyable and I never felt bored. The permit test was really easy and no stress at all. Overall a great place to get a permit and I will be back for my driver's test!

We had a great experience with 1st Drive. They picked my son up from school, let him drive the hours he needed, and then dropped him off at home afterward. It was a huge help. The driver developed a good rapport with my son so he felt comfortable driving alone with him repeatedly. Would definitely recommend them!

My daughter did the 6 hour Drive Training and the experience went without a hitch and they even pick up and drop off! I will recommend 1st Drive.

Randy is the best! I sent both my girls to Randy to teach them to drive. They both loved the way he taught and I could tell how much they learned by the way the drove. Both girls are now out and driving on their own. Thanks Randy for a great experience.

This place is great. I kept looking at the places by the DMV thinking there has got to be a better option, and here it is. Plus, you can use your own car! Very accommodating and relaxed.

Both my husband and I went there for our road tests, and were treated with nothing but respect and courteousness.
Personally, as I was kind of on edge, Randy made me feel relaxed right off the bat. Extremely professional, polite, and understanding.
I’ve told countless people about them, and will always recommend them!

Great experience all around! Instructor Mike was always on time for appointments, great with communication regarding appointment days/times (always texted the day before to confirm) and was a great teacher for our daughter. We also saved time by completing the driving test for the license through 1st Drive - less time at the DMV!! I would highly recommend 1st Drive to friends and family. Thank You!
