Amazing! I had a two hour brush up session with Spencer who was so patient and knowledgeable, I learned so many things in the session and honestly walked away a better driver. I then took my official driving test with Ed who was so chill and friendly, he really put me at ease and I was able to pass my test easily. Thank you Spencer & Ed for the amazing experience!

I have been taking Driving lesson in this driving institute. My experience with instructor Joshua was great. I am sure other instructors are good as well. To be honest, I am a slow learner and keeps forgetting but instructor Joshua was very patience with me. He is professional, calm and gives good instructions that makes me feel comfortable and decrease my anxiety while driving. We drove in neighborhood, city area, Denver, freeway and highways, reverse, parking - great experience. Thank you I would recommend this driving institute to you all

I had Josh as my driver. I signed up for the 2 hour "brush up"class, a little over confidant wondering what I could learn after 50 years of driving experience and no tickets before this parking lot rear-ender. I was too honest about the cause of my accident, telling the officer of my chronic back pain that only allowed me upright 4 hrs/day, that by 5:30 contributed to my distraction.

I should have kept my mouth shut, for I surprisingly got a compulsory written and driving test attached to my ticket! And I had a near perfect driving history! Well, I was surprised how much I had to learn! Josh was patient, calm, so pleasant, and pointed out many things I hadn't been aware of. Sloppy habits that I needed to change. Like seeing the tires of the car in front of me when I stopped behind a car for a light; not the license plate.

And that I should accelerate quickly out of the middle of the intersection when making a left or right turn; I was being a bit slow. If the crosswalk is unmarked I tend to stop on top of it rather than behind it (like most people) because I can see the cross traffic better. But that doesn't matter, since pedestrians need to walk across & I can't move anyway until the light changes. The 2 hours flew by! Let's hope the test next week is successful! I feel so much more confidant about it! 10+ CDL! Bravo! I encourage anyone to come here!

I took the refresher course, not having driven for about seven years. Spencer was an excellent instructor, taking me through a full range of driving experiences with useful critiques along the way. I highly recommend this course.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. It was easy to get and appointment for my motorcycle driving test. I was in and out quick and results were sent straight to the DMV. I would highly recommend them!

As a foreigner in the US, I had to get to get a local license. I chose this school because it was close by and offered driving tests at an affordable rate. The examiner, Ed, is a very friendly guy, gave me plenty of time to get adjusted to the car (the exam takes place in one of their cars, not your own), and his calm demeanor made the exam overall a good experience.

Great experience with the drive test! I was able to schedule my test same-day, and it only cost $80 as compared to most other drive schools that wouldn't schedule earlier than several weeks out and had the same tests priced at $95. The staff member Josh was very easy-going, which made it easy to feel relaxed and pay my full attention to the road. Thanks for making what is normally a stressful experience a very nice one!

DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! Money Scam! We scheduled an appointment with this company for a driver's test needed to get a driver's license reinstated. We paid the $80 fee and the day of the appointment when we are on our way from Johnstown to Boulder, we get a phone call saying that they would need to reschedule due to snow, they scheduled us 4 days out.

The day of the appointment, as we were driving from Johnstown to Boulder, they called and said they would need to reschedule AGAIN due to weather. We asked for a refund so we could go somewhere else as a license is urgent for my husband's job, they denied our request and said they can't refund us. We asked to speak to a supervisor and explained the situation and he HUNG UP on us.

I called back to reschedule and was told they WONT reschedule us or refund us as my husband grew frustrated on the phone. We were told that we would need to speak to the owner who would call us upon return to the office (in approximately a week in a half as he is on vacation). We live in COLORADO! The fact that they told him they would have to reschedule then told him to come in and test and if there was any type of slippage it would be an automatic fail is absolutely ridiculous as we would have to pay AGAIN to re-test.

The unprofessional communication/lack of communication has been frustrating and the fact that they won't allow us to cancel for a refund without first speaking to the owner is even more ridiculous.

I highly recommend working with Ed Overfield for any driving classes needs. He is a long standing member of the Boulder community and knows the ins and outs of his profession to a tee. We not only appreciate the great service that Colorado Driving Institute provides but we also know there's a friendly face behind the service that provides that ever-important personal touch.

I took only a drive test at Colorado Driving Institute as I have a driver license for 17 years. The Instructor, Josh I think, was very professional and he understood why my hand was on the gearshift so much as back home I own a car with manual transmission: It is a shame that you can use your national drivers license and drive a car for 90 days and after that you are obligated to applied for Colorado Drivers License. This part of the law is quite understandable. I recommend this place for new and old drivers.

Appointment was canceled due to the weather and I need to reschedule but the motorcycle test guy was leaving for 2 weeks and I will not be able to take the test until March due to travel. And the March schedule was unavailable so I haven't been able to reschedule for March.

The tester Ed is a really nice person. I have a Jeep car which is different from the car provided and used for driving test at the institute. Ed introduced me how to adjust the mirrors, gear and the power button of the car before we headed to the roads.

I just used the company for a driving test, after more than 2 years abroad with no driving. The instructor, Ed, was professional yet friendly, and obviously very experienced. My only complaint is that the 20 mph default speed limit in residential neighborhoods in Boulder does not appear in the Colorado Driver's Handbook, which mentions a usual speed limit of 30mph in residential neighborhoods, but this is obviously important for the test.

I have heard the default speed limit appears on roads leading into Boulder, but this is of no use for the test. Wouldn't it help to quickly mention this to testees before the test begins? Aside from this one point, I would highly recommend this driving school.

This place was amazing! Not only were they super fast but after being completely stressed out with every other Drive testing facility being booked out till November, I couldn't of been happier when I saw Driving Institute was able to get me in that next day! They gave me super helpful feedback at the end of my driving test, which i really loved. I would reccomend this place to all of my friends and family. Thank you guys again!

I took 4 lessons with Joshua. I had never driven before. Josh was very thorough, observant and patient. He took me through a variety of routes and practical situations. Gave good, pointed notes after each lesson. He also ensured he instilled confidence in me through each lesson. Had a great experience, highly recommend!

Great experience! Went in for a driver's test and entire process was efficient. Ed is also really great and nice! I wanted to get my license that day and he personally walked over to the DMV and got me a walk-in appointment (the DMV does not do walk-ins currently and there are no appointments available for many weeks).

My instructor (Josh?) was very personable and the driving test was not unnecessarily stressful. His instructions were clear and concise. His feedback was communicated in a friendly but constructive manner, and I believe I am a better driver as a result of his pointers. The driving school had my results uploaded to the DMV in a matter of minutes, and I was able to complete the entire process (drive test and DMV) in just over one hour total. I highly recommend.

This school has old cars. Mine broke down while I was taking a class.
