1st Class Driving School has designed classes with the busy student in mind. We have a very flexible system of classes that allows students to take the classes in any order they wish and at their own pace. In some schools you have a very strict schedule for taking the classes and this does not work into a lot of the current schedules of kids busy lives. We understand this and try to make our classroom experience rewarding and easy to fit into any schedule. Check out our driving classes' schedule and see for yourself.

What does the State of Minnesota require? The state requires that you get 30 hours of classroom training and 6 hours of BTW (behind-the-wheel) training in order to take the State exams. Once the classroom is completed and you signed up for the behind the wheel you will receive your "Blue Card". Once you receive your permit and have finished all 6 hours of BTW training you will receive your "White Card". When you are 16 years old, have completed your driving log and have had your permit for at least 6 months you can take your road test.
Our drivers are all certified through the state, and have had extensive background checks including an FBI background check. We take great care in providing good instruction to help students prepare for the MN State Road exam, but also provide the groundwork to developing the proper habits when driving.

My first behind the wheel instructor was so kind, i don't remember his name but he was a man who was younger. so kind and patient. the second one i got was an older lady who was so incredibly rude. ripped my permit out of my hands and started screaming at me in the car, she then made me cry and this was all before we had left my drive way of my home.
She had also asked me how many hours i had and i explained my situation and she told me that wasn't good enough and that it was never gonna be good enough to get my license even tho i have 45+ hours on the road and drive daily. I didn't respond to what she was saying cause i was crying under the pressure of a grown adult yelling at my face in the car.
She then told me i had issues and went inside my house to tell my mom i had so called "issues". So incredibly unprofessional. This experience has hurt me deeply, i am only 15 and it can be very hard to have someone who's teaching young children to drive to act in that manner. I am deeply concerned for the way she treats other students.

I have always been told depressing stories of how boring drivers ed is, but not this place. I genuinely got excited to go to class because my teacher was so great. He made class engaging and he would tell all kinds of funny (and occasionally unpleasant for the purpose for us students to become safe and smart) drivers stories while at the same time teaching us what we need to know to pass the written test & and to be safe on the road.
He made the class a comfortable place to ask questions. For the behind the wheels, there was never an awkward silence between the teacher and myself. I had 3 different teachers for my 3 behind-the-wheels and each one told me valuable things. From parallel parking and 90 degree back strategies to what a real road test administrator is looking for to pass the road test.
I really could not have gotten my license without this school. I 100% recommend this school to anyone who is looking to get their license quickly while also getting the most valuable knowledge needed to become a safe driver.
