If you are an adult in need of driving instruction, we have several options to fit your needs. You may have simply been off of the road for awhile and would like a few brush-up lessons. In this case, our 2-Lesson Package is for you! Perhaps you've recently moved here from another country, or just didn't need to learn to drive up until now. For you, we would recommend our 8-Lesson Package.Whatever your specific needs may be, we will work with you to devise a lesson plan that's right for you. And, as with all of our students, transportation to and from each lesson will be provided with each package in the West Portland/Beaverton/Hillsboro/Tualatin Metro areas.

Great NW Drivers has been family owned and operated by Greg and Samantha Hammerly for over 16 years and we love what we do! Our instructors, Greg and Lorna, have over two decades of experience in helping Oregonians to become safer, more skilled drivers. As a privately owned small business, we are able to give our clients certain things that the bigger companies and government-run agencies cannot.
All services include pick-up and return in Portland (we service the West side of the river) /Bethany/Beaverton/Hillsboro/Aloha/Tualatin Metro Areas. 60-minute assessment for drivers who need to have their driving skills evaluated for medical reasons or to make sure they are safe drivers. For when students need to use our car and insurance for their pre-scheduled DMV drive test. This sessions is 2.5 hours and includes 60-minutes of practice before the test itself.

Adult Driver, got my license at 27! Greg is an amazing driving instructor. He has an incredible amount of patience and empathy, and he went above and beyond to help me get on the road. I have disabilities, one of which is very high anxiety, and I didn't think I would ever be comfortable to be on the road. I also don't have family able to teach me.
I was referred by my disability counselor and took lessons end of 2021 to beginning of 2022. I passed my driving test on January 18th with a great score. I can't imagine getting to that point without Greg's support. My confidence has improved immensely, and I continually tell people how wonderful he is. He sees people as more than clients, and he truly wants you to succeed and enjoy being a driver. I highly recommend Greg to fellow people with disabilities, especially others who have anxiety or adhd too
