AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I signed up for the $300 beginners motorcycle training in Kirkland w/ a guy named Tim (or Jim?). I arrived with a brand new helmet, gloves, and thick high walled shoes. Tim gave me one glance and told me he didn't like my shoes, and told me to go home and "call the office Monday to reschedule". Needless to say, it was quite the bummer after I had cleared my entire weekend for this course AND the shoes I had on were no shorter than anyone else's.
I call the office Monday and then starts the chaos of going back and forth for 2 weeks trying to reschedule; this ultimately ends with someone named "Matthew" (no title distinction or last name in the email) saying I'm out of luck and WILL NEED TO PAY THE FULL FEE AGAIN TO RESCHEDULE. What did I even pay for?! How can they steal $300 because one guy thought my shoes were wrong?!
This is hands down the WORST customer service I have ever received. This company is criminal. Add to all this that I'm a very tall rider (6'7") and this "Matthew" person informed me TWO WEEKS AFTER the course that none of the bikes are likely to fit me. My height is something I mentioned in my initial email - would had been nice to know BEFORE SPENDING $300!

Better hope you don't have a family emergency. They will not let you reschedule. I called a full week in advance and emailed them but couldn't get a hold of them until I tried calling 3 more times and yes during their open hours. Finally I was told, because it was only a week and not 10 days that I could not reschedule. I was not looking for a refund, just to take the class at a later date or possibly even just a discount off rescheduling but no. so now I'm out the money and still have to find somewhere else to take my motorcycle safety course through

I am so grateful for the experience this class gave me. Jim was my instructor for the Basic Rider Training - Tacoma. He was an incredibly patient teacher, own class was a size of 6. He did a remarkable job helping each of us overcome the challenges we faced. Made sure to answer any and all questions we had. He was very personable and made my class a wonderful learning expericence. Thank you so much for your help. Keep up the good work. This man deserves a raise. -Izzy

Did the MSF course here back in June and did my endorsement tests through PSP. The two instructors I had for the MSF course were amazing: Jason and Greg (?). The two played off each other really well and I learned a lot from them with Jason being the younger rider with 15+ years of experience and Greg being the older rider with decades of experience. Made it feel as if my best friend and favorite uncle were teaching with one making sure I didn't feel pressured or anxious and the other providing great wisdom and knowledge.
Both made sure the class was learning to their best of their abilities and the two throwing humor into the mix helped ease any tension the class may have been feeling during exercises that appeared intimidating. Highly recommended PSP for their classes and instructors! Will be taking advanced classes with PSP in the future as well.

Just finished up the Basic Rider Training course. Jim and Greg were great as instructors, serious when they needed to be but light hearted enough to take the edge off of what is already a fairly daunting exercise for a beginner rider. We got good practical seat time on the bikes and down to earth advise and guidance from veteran riders. If you have never been on a bike before, you can start with the Basic Rider course but I would probably recommend the Intro to Riding course first.
Our first day was right on the bikes and there was a basic assumption that you knew what a clutch is, where the throttle is, brakes, how the gear lever works, etc. Overall, very good experience and will be considering some of the more advanced courses as well as a result.

I've never ridden or driven a motorized two-wheeler before, so I was a bit out of my element. The two instructors I worked with, Jim and Roger, are very good at teaching. They're very knowledgeable on safety and have a ton of experience. Needless to say, they got me to pass the permit tests within two days! The Basic Rider course teaches you everything you need to know to start cruising around your neighborhood or parking lot. Very excited to take their Returning Rider class to get my endorsement.

Not what I expected. The instructors really care about the subject matter they instruct, and there is no condescending attitude when you make a mistake. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and very experienced about safety, techniques, the laws of the road, and more importantly, being a great teacher. I was a rider, way back in the day, so I enrolled in the intermediate class.
I got brought up to speed, taught some new techniques (which were not part of any previous certification class I took in the past) and was awarded my license endorsement. I am going back for the motorcycle maintenance classes that they offer. Highly recommend to military veterans and their families. I used their bikes which are 250cc. They are reliable, LIGHT, and much better to test on than showing up with plus 750cc bike.

I had a stellar experience with PSS, specific in my case to the motorcycle skills program. I appreciate that they have a full slate of courses ranging from new rider all the way through intermediate and then advanced. Having years of riding experience but always looking to learn more, I signed up for back-to-back Advanced Street Skills 101 and 102.
I have made a persona commitment to continue to stay as sharp as possible with attending at least 2 courses per year. There's a nice classroom in a strip mall, with good A/V, ventilation and fans, tables and chairs. I walked in and did a double-take, because the head instructor for this course was a truly masterful motorcyclist who is world famous, Bret Tkacs.
I follow him on his Youtube channel and was really looking forward to getting more than I bargained for, learning from him for 2 days. There was another instructor as well who was very good and helpful also. There was a good mix of classroom instruction and on-pavement street skills practice and coaching in the very large parking lot nearby. I have been to a lot of advanced rider courses such as Streetmasters (which is also outstanding) but it found it incredibly unique that this coaching crew had a radar gun with continuous speed sensing, and could hook up to a computer to aid in rider analysis.
We each got a personalized chart and data readout of how efficiently we could brake under different conditions. Super useful. We did a number of other exercises throughout the 2 days which helped me improve my handing of the bike and situational awareness. I particularly liked Bret's pictures of different road scenarios and challenging us to think further ahead based on the little clues we're seeing.
Overall a fantastic experience. My only nitpick is that I would have liked to receive a certificate of completion as most rider courses provide. (This helps me remember the course and also is even useful for insurance purposes).

I just took the beginning riding course and it was definitely helpful and got me ready to ride. The instructor Greg is a phenomenal instructor who sets you up for success. I was the only female in my class but never once was that an issue. Not only is the course a great start to riding, the staff is great and very helpful. I had a few questions and messaged the facebook page to get a very quick response that answered all of my questions.
Not only were they able to answer my questions but they gave me suggestions as well to things that might benefit me and they never acted as if I was a bother (some places you get quick short response as if you are taking up to much of their time but not once with them). Jessica is the one who answered my questions online and again was very helpful and never brushed me off. Thank you again to the amazing staff at puget sound safety and I will be returning to the ARS class with a friend! Also recommending them to anyone and everyone who asks!

Intermediate Rider Training Class I had an endorsement several years ago but let it go as I sold my motorcycle. I got the bug again and started looking at bikes but you can't test ride without an endorsement. I signed up for the IRT and was able to obtain my endorsement one long but very informative day! I feel that this class is not only a bargain but you receive knowledge and actual riding skills that will help keep you safer on the road.
It is also awesome that they provide you with a bike to use for the class. The instructor Jason was awesome! They give you the riding and written test that day. I was able to pass! I was very impressed when I went to the DOL today to add my endorsement, I handed my course completion card to the person behind the counter and she said "I don't need this, your endorsement information is already in the system" I just had to pay. Thank you Puget Sound Safety!

Intermediate Riding class The classroom setting was comfortable and began with everyone discussing why they were taking the course, and the answers varied greatly although many had decided to become legal. I felt the instructor in class, Jason, was confident in his knowledge and followed a course outline that I am sure is very scripted, which is good.
We did have class discussions, some video and comments on different scenarios. In this class everyone had some experience riding at some level, so the basics were passed over. (Yay.) The riding began at Cheney Stadium parking lot and the bikes were in generally good condition, but you could tell the spent a fair amount of time not upright. (Must be the beginner's class.) Every maneuver was designed to exceed what you were being tested on later in the day and clearly explained and diagramed.
During one of the 'huddles' to discuss our lack of understanding what the current exercise was about a car drove through our wall or orange cones so that instructors Jim and Jason could claim they saved our lives. Thanks guys! It was fun, informative, educational and even though I hadn't ridden a motorcycle in over 30 years the class had me extremely confident by the end of the day.
The course was wet due to heavy morning rain, but we were on good equipment with well qualified instructors and as a result every participant walked away that day with their endorsement. (except one guy due to a paperwork snafu) He did pass though. Overall, I would highly recommend Puget Sound Safety and I plan on trying out their advanced classes. Well done gentlemen.

Chris M. said the instructor made a racial comment about him being Asian, but what he left out is the instructor is Asian as well! What she meant by that comment was Asians are really hard on themselves and Chris should relax. The statement was made because he was doing poorly and she wanted him to calm down, it was said in a way that she understands how critical Asians can be about themselves when they do poorly.
The instructor wanted him to have fun and learn the techniques she was trying to teach. As far as her making a naive remark about him being adopted, it was a compliment to his adopted parents for taking him in a raising him, adoption is one of the most giving things a human can do for another human, the instructor has no idea how your home life was and the adoption comment was meant to be a compliment and nothing more!
You failed the skills test because you didn't use what was taught, or you simply don't have the aptitude to ride a motorcycle, not because an Asian made an Asain remark to relax you and build positive reinforcement. I do recall during the pre-test instructions you are told, "if you accumulate too many points that you may be pulled out of the test." You should've backed out right then and there if you couldn't handle being asked to park your motorcycle in front of others in the event you accumulate too many points to pass the skills test.
Your failure was NOT shouted out, she told you in private to park the bike, I can only imagine what would happen if you accumulate too many points then were allowed to go on and then wrecked the motorcycle. The first question the instructor will have to answer is, "If the individual already failed the test, why was he allowed to continue riding?" The instructor would most likely get fired, and if you were injured after you failed and were allowed to continue, you would have a case for a lawsuit, a lawyer would have a field day suing PSS in this situation. You had a fantastic instructor, I know because my son was in her class, every story has two sides.

I just completed the BRC today (4/11) and absolutely enjoyed it. I have rode in the past, and on a lot of trails, all without the proper experience or knowledge. The instructors Rick and Jim were awesome and very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the process. Overall, I will recommend PSS to anyone looking to obtain a motorcycle endorsement or further their skills in their multiple courses like I am planning on doing in the near future. Ride safe.

I went to this driving school in the summer and have been meaning to write a review for awhile. This is such a good driving school. I am so glad I went with my gutt and went here. I got a good learning experience out of this school and learned alot. The instructors are SO informative, knowledgable and make learning how to drive alot easier, understanding and fun for beginners. Terry and Matt were good teachers and my driver instructor Terry was great. Definitley recommend going here for driving school or for a motorcycle liscence.

I hadn't ridden a motorcycle in over 50 years and needed the endorsement for a motor scooter rental use coming up overseas. I took the PSS intermediate rider course with Jerry and Greg and came away with the endorsement certificate. The training is serious, efficient and with excellent critical comments for improvement. I commend these folks for being able to teach the old dog some "new" tricks. Thanks.

This review is strictly for their customer service. Full disclosure I had signed up for the wrong riding course. I had done an intro to ridding course which was great, then I was looking for a follow up class because I eventually want to get my license. I read the intermediate riding course and felt comfortable with the requirements. The day of the class I immediately came to the realization that I had signed up for a course above my comfort level.
I talked to the instructor and explained why I felt I signed up for the wrong course. The following workday I called their customer service number and explained what happened and asked if I can apply the money I already paid for a beginners course. I explained the error I made and since I didn't take the course I felt they could allow me to apply that money towards another class.
The person said that they talk to the manager and they would make a decision and call me back. About a week past and an agent called because I had signed up for the beginners course and they wanted payment. Again I explained what happened, she read some notes on my account and said that they had decided not to allow me to use the money I had paid for a different course. It's upsetting that their very shortsighted since I was planning to take 3 other courses with them. I understand it was my error but it seems that the only worry they have is money.

My son (16) and daughter (15) took the drivers training course here. Both of my kids and I had a great experience with PSS. The course was six weeks in class, three nights a week for two hours a class. Then they had six hour long drives each. Scheduling the drives was super easy as PSS offered many time slots. I also appreciated that I was able to make payments for the course.
The instructors were all super friendly and knowledgable. Shout out to Terry and George who the kids specifically liked. Even the staff in the office were a pleasure to deal with. I especially liked that we were able to do everything here. After the course, the kids took the knowledge test, my son did his drivers test and we were able to go to DMV that day to get his license. I highly recommend PSS to any mom looking for a place to take their kid for driver training!

I felt discriminated by the instructors, and would not recommend anyone to go do their basic riding class at this school. As a newbie the instructors ignored me a lot and also never gave me a chance to re do a run-on the test that I did poor while other people were allowed to re do their runs that they performed poorly, I did two tests and failed both for nothing and instructor Jesse embarrassed me in front of other students making me take off the helmet and mount the bike in the spot he claimed I failed in front of anyone in the middle of the test. It's a corrupted school whereby instructors do whatever they want and don't treat everyone equally.

I attended the first 2013 season ADV camp and it was phenomenal. The PSS off-road team is extremely friendly and helpful, and they deliver a really good overall experience. Highly recommended for adventure riders. I really liked that Ridewest BMW (represented by Tracy) comes and gives you the opportunity to try out a couple of the GS bikes. No dealership anywhere near where I live does that. I'm planning to go out of my way to give them my business now. I want to do the BDR camp next, where they do more training and guide you on the Washington Backcountry Discovery Route. I wish I didn't live so far away (in Canada).
