Services
M.A. Driving School courses and instructors are certified by the Washington Department of Licensing. Our instructors are also CPR and first aid certified. They complete annual continuing education for renewals of their driver instructor license. We enjoy staying informed about improvements, new laws, and updates in traffic safety.
If you are under the age of 18, you must complete driver education to get a driver's license. You must be 15 years old by the third day of class and bring a valid instruction permit to all behind-the-wheel driving lessons. Your first three behind-the-wheel drives should be completed before your last classroom session.
M.A. Driving School is DOL approved for license testing to administer the written knowledge test. You may take the written knowledge test at our school and the drive skills test at ANY driving school that offers it. Passing these two tests is required in order to obtain a WA driver's license. Your test score will be electronically submitted into the DOL database within 24 hours.
If you are under 15 and completed a driver education course, you are eligible to take the written knowledge test immediately. If you are 15 or older you can take the test even if you are not enrolled in a driver education course. Passing the written knowledge test at 15 or older allows you to purchase an Instruction Permit.

The experience I had with the driving instructors was top-notch. I received guidance in my driver's ed course both in the classroom and on the road that assisted myself into establishing the skills I needed to drive successfully and safely on my own. I am grateful to both Beverly Martinez and Joan Brown for their patience, kindness, and understanding that fostered a nurturing environment for me during my time at M.A. Driving School.

The experience was wonderful. I learned a lot from the teachers. The drives are not stressful they make sure that you are comfortable. And the bookwork is not boring. The computer program Z.E.D is great. This is a really good school if you want to learn the right way about safety and how to drive the right way.

As a student of this school, i have to say that the staff was friendly and patience with all questions. There was a few videos but every day we would be given a packet of work to do, and at the end we would go into each question and have the answer explained to us. if your child is attentive in class and dose not goof around during class it is the perfect school.

I was careful to write this review until after my daughter had compleated the course and had her license in hand. My concern was that I would end up in a similar situation as the previous reviewer of this business. I would like to echo her sentiment about this poorly run, unfriendly business. We experienced similar problems as well as a general lack of effort on the part of instructors.
The woman who taught the class primarily used videos for instruction and spent quite alot of time complaining about her personal life. Mistakes made by their computer reservation system or whomever was retrieving the information nearly cost us several fees. Switching a reservation only a few hours into the 2 day prior requirement resulted in automatic fees which prompted me to meet with the owner.
I was met with false accusations about my reservation time which I printed and brought with me. After realizing her mistake she explained how lucky I was that she was giving me a break. The office has a sign sitting on their desk for all to read. It says "we don't deal with grumpy customers" I think they have created enough grumpy customers to warrant the sign.
I would reccomend that anyone about to put their child behind the wheel of an automobile spend the extra money or drive the extra distance to avoid entrusting these people to educate them. Furthermore, all parents should try to send their children to driving schools where the education and safety is the emphasis of the business, not managing complicated fee structures to drive higher revenue. I hope this review can save some headaches and ensure that some children have a better experience learning how to drive.
