Please read this review. You will spend 10 hours per day in a classroom for four days. During those four days you will learn about trucks on a tablet. The "teacher" will talk loudly on her phone, sleep and have an attitude. After you finish learning about trucks you will discover that everything you just learned is not on the CDL learners permit test.
Now you have to study the real CDL stuff on your own time before you can get your CDL learners permit. They laughed at me when I called to ask for advice on how to study for the CDL learners permit. They will not help you where it matters. They don't care.

UPDATE: I got a job with Werner Enterprises! Average pay for my route is $80k/year. Starting pay is about $75k/year. Katlaw is a bargain! Other people who started at Werner with me paid over $7,000 for their school and they got one week less of yard time! (Every one from every school has said that all school trucks are beat to hell.) Original Review: All of the instructors and women in the office are absolutely wonderful. Endlessly helpful, working hard to never make you wait, and up front and honest about what to expect.
After one week in class, and three weeks in the trucks, I passed the CDL class on my first try! Recruiters are frequently present and always come with free lunch or doughnuts. The only thing that needs drastic improvement is the maintenance of the trucks. They could due to hire another mechanic. Trucks were frequently breaking down and all of them have. quirks.
The instructors are aware of this and do everything they can to ensure you get enough seat time. The small class sizes (5 in my class, but usually 6) also means it's easy to get enough seat time in the trucks. Don't skip a day! The day you feel like skipping is the day everyone else will -- which means the best opportunity to get your driving hours in. Anyway, I'm very grateful to everyone who works at Katlaw. They are both lovely people and happily determined to help people achieve to higher opportunities in their careers.

GREAT SCHOOL. I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT SEMI TRUCKS OR DRIVING A MANUAL BEFORE GOING TO KATLAW. LEARNED WAY MORE THAN I EXPECTED IN ONLY 4 WEEKS. YOU DEFINITELY HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK THOUGH. THEY CAN ONLY TEACH AND SHOW YOU ITS UP TO YOU TO GRASP WHAT THEYRE TEACHING YOU.I WASNT ONE AND DONE BUT I GOT MY CDL! THANKS TO ALL OF YOU!

During my tenure at Katlaw, I can confidently Say this is one of the best schools in Georgia, From the value of the 160-hour course ($3400) to The instructors who were great and always offered wise guidance you definitely get what you pay for and more! Everyone here wants to see you do great. A few of the key components for being successful here is to simply follow all of their instructions and to come into the school with the understanding that you have put forth your own effort and have proper self accountability because nobody is going to hold your hand. They give all the tools to be successful and pass your CDL test from the permit to Road. I'd highly recommend this school to anyone!

After being in a training class with students from other schools near and far it was clear that Katlaw students were more knowledgeable and performed better. In a short period of time you learn a lot and the instructors really put forth an effort to help, train and coach you on individual skills. Ms Gwen is awesome and loves to see the students succeed. Gives it to you just like it is! Overall great instructors. Dee was the best. He's as patient as patient can be. You'll love it!

My experience at Katlaw was positive. Katlaw is both affordable and effective. The instructors were friendly and helpful. The skills I learned at Katlaw properly prepared me for my road test and I was able to pass with ease. I would recommend Katlaw to anyone looking to get into the truck driving industry.

My husband and I just graduated from Katlaw. Although neither of us were one and done we loved it there. All the instructor's have tons of knowledge to share and they helped us and never gave up on us. You have to put in the work 100 percent, but the knowledge and skills are there to be taught and learned. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting there CDL!
