Our goal is to achieve accident free driving through education. Our emphasis is on decision making based on safety rather than convenience. We not only meet the minimum requirements, we exceed them!
Services
D & D Driving School is one of the most established and well respected driving schools in Ohio. D & D was founded in 1952 by Mr. Donald E. Austin, a pioneer in driver training. In 1992 Sharon Fife, Donald's daughter, assumed control of the business and has continued its excellence in the driving industry.
Our 32 hour teen course consists of 24 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. The classroom instruction is divided into 12 two-hour classes that are independent of each other. The teens are required to attend one session of each of the twelve classes, and complete a final exam at the end of their twelve classes.
Lack of sufficient driving skill often leads to injury and death. These statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration show the ongoing problem on our highways. Your choice of where and how you learn to drive will save you time, money, stress, and possibly your life! Our driver training programs are customized to the needs of the adult student.
D&D Driving School has been licensed through the Ohio Department of Public Safety to provide driver training for the disabled since 1979. We have been family owned and operated since 1952. We have received references from The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, Miami Valley Hospital, Ohio State University and Rehabilitation facilities in the Cincinnati area.

My wife's son who was 19 at the time was told they only take teenagers for driving lesson's. Called a few weeks later and they offer adult driving lessons and he went driving but, called today and they only take teenagers.

Just followed one of their instructors vehicles for a couple of miles on a two lane road. Vehicle was a Black Honda Civic license plate was FMK6895. Drivers side brake lights where not working. If you are instructing young drivers on how to operate a motor vehicle they need to know how to check their vehicle for proper operation of ALL lights. This instructor FAILED on the pre operation of a vehicle.

The driving instructor barb was unprofessional! She was so aggressive and has horrible teaching skills. she was very rude and had slick comments during the driving session, she's a micro manager, she tends to wonder off while she's supposed to be instructing the driving lesson. She said " I was going to leave comments but it seems like you're in a hurry " and I said because you're being rude, I remained respectful until I was getting out the car.

She needs to be fired and needs her license revoked! If you plan on coming her request anybody else but BARB. She also took 30 minutes of my time to talk instead of driving. my mom didn't pay $120 for me to have a disrespectful, unprofessional, micro managing instructor. I talked to Sharon and she was very understanding about the situation and was very helpful. Barb needs to take a few people skill lessons as well as some driving lessons herself and communication skills, had me turning at the last minute, and had me ready to hurt her feelings.

The office staff in my opinion is clueless. After scheduling all four of my child's in-car lessons, the office calls at 4pm (and they close at 5pm) to change the times the night before. It should be noted these classes were scheduled in July for the end of Aug times. After completion of the online final test, my child went to turn in the paperwork and test.

He also had questions. He was told by the staff to wait till DnD calls with the results to ask his questions and refused to answer his questions. When they did call with the passing results they tried to set him up for in-car lessons which he had already completed. Now that the test is completed and the in-car driving is completed and the DnD certificate is in hand, DnD is sending emails about scheduling in-car lessons (it is sept when I write this) the emails are for a lesson sept 27 and aug 24. I would not recommend at all going to DnD is my personal opinion based on experiences with them.

Critical:Communication, Professionalism While my son LOVED the driver instructor and classes. The office staff and communications were terrible. VERY Rude phone calls, unorganized answers and communications all lead to a BAD experience and not sure if with our second child we will use D&D.

The only positive was the driver, Al. I had to cancel her test because after 9 days I STILL DONT HAVE HER CERTIFICATE. They then tell me I have to take off work. Drive and hour. Pay 15.00 drive an hour home.because THEY can't tell me why I don't have it. They are disorganized. Rude. Lazy and i highly regret dealing with them. Save the headache. wheelers and AAA are much easier and better to deal with.

SO far the online classes have been fine, but waiting countless months for the live driving while our money is held hostage is silly. Now we're told end of summer (3 more months)- know this before you sign up.

Critical:Communication This place is incredibly slow and unorganized. I have to tell them what to do every time I call, they missed appointment times and got them wrong, and we really only got put on the list for driving after waiting 6 months and then calling to complain. If there was another option I would have gone that way.

Had a great experience with D&D, easy classes with valuable driving information. Larry made in car driving fun while also being professional and knowledgeable.

We have been trying to get driving school completed since June. There was an issue where she took too many classes in one day and then had to retake one because it didn't count. That's onus, but after 2 failed attempts at the written test, she had to retake another class because of the same reason. They should have caught that in the first place! She took the written test for the 4th time 2 weeks ago and it's still not graded. Seriously? Also, she was told that her in car would be delayed until August due to COVID.

That's understandable, however, it's now November. She needs to get her license before her temps expire. This is absolutely ridiculous. If I hadn't paid in full up front, we would've changed schools a long time ago.

This place is awesome! If I could give D&D Driving School 10,000 stars I would. They really work with you and they bend over backwards to make the customer happy. I wouldn't choose any other driving school to go through. 10/10 recommend.

I used D&D to take a remedial driving course. The instructor was excellent andEverybody on the staff was very friendly and very helpful. I highly recommend using them for any driving needs.

So far the customer service is poor and awful. Just calling in they are incredibly rude and act as if you're bothering them by trying to schedule things. Almost didn't even book an appointment. There is may one nice, competent person who works there, but it seems like everyone else are just snarky old birds who hate their life. If you want people to treat you like a person, do not go here.

My son asked me to write a review because he wants to recommend this Driving school. Student takes 2 hours x 12 classes which made me worry for my son to fall asleep during the class. My son said class was too fun and no way to fall asleep. I appreciate to the instructors to make the class interesting. His favorite instructor was Dale but he said all the instructors are fun. He still haven't take driving practice yet but I hope it will continue well.

Instructor was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. 2 hours into the class I was asked go leave for checking the time on my phone. Even though 3 other people in the class had been previously asked to put their phones away when they were actually using their phones. I didn't even unlock mine and was asked to leave. I work 55 hours a week and have 3 children so opportunities to take the class are limited.

I know that most that take a remedial class are required to but that is not my case. I chose D & D to spend my $90 and take the class and was treated like they were paying me. Ridiculous

Customer Service is poor. Organization seems to be SLOW! my son has been waiting two weeks for his completion certificate. When I called, they put me on hold for a long while then came back and advised "we need to find his file. Can we call you back?" My son has had to cancel his driving test twice because we still have not gotten certificate. GRRRRR so frustrating for a sixteen year old to wait over two weeks for a piece of paper.

Bad for a driving school to be so inconsiderate during this important event in a teenagers life! He completed his last in car driving 5/21. Paperwork was not submitted internally at D&D until 5/26. 5 days! then the certificate wasn't mailed til 5/28. another two days! so they say which is doubtful because it 6/2 and we STILL do not have final completion certificate!

Do not recommend this school. Very disappointed in their offices lack of customer service. Again, last in car was 5/21. It is 6/2 and he still is not able to get license! I feel horrible for my son who really is being so patience during this awful experience. Wish I would have seen these reviews before hiring D&D. don't do it. This should be a happy time for your teenager. I agree with other reviews that their attitude is very rude!

I recently took a driving class with D & D driving school recently. The instructor, Darrel was the rudest man. He was a tyrant over the class constantly threatening to throw people out of the class and fail them and keep their money. This was a class full of adults and he proceeded to treat all of us not even as children but a warden over a prison.

He was very disrespectful. The old house on Salem avenue where the class was held was cramped, dirty, and had visible rat poison out in the room! The bathroom partially worked and was very dirty. DO NOT USE D & D DRIVING SCHOOL!
