Michigan does not recognize parent taught or online driver education courses for this requirement.

We are fully invested in educating and serving the kids of our community. We have over 230 years of public school teaching experience in Muskegon County and 194 years of drivers training instruction. We are a local, family-owned business that has served Muskegon County for 15 years. We have strong roots in the community and offer instruction at 7 different locations around Muskegon County to serve your busy schedule.

Our Crew Report

West Michigan Driving Academy is owned and operated by Bob Walters. Bob was born and raised in Muskegon County and has spent his entire 17-year teaching career at Reeths-Puffer High School. Bob has a Bachelor Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in School Administration, both from Western Michigan University.

Courses & Fees Report

Segment 1 takes 4 weeks with three weeks of classroom time Monday-Thursday and the 4th week we finish the drives. All locations $50 - send payment in with a signed contract at least 2 weeks before the start of class.

5. Do you do Road Tests? We do have a Road Test Instructor that operates out of our facility at 1165 W. Hackley Ave. Call Jerry Campbell at (231)329-8020 to schedule an appointment. 7. How do I get my Level One license? You go to the Secretary of State Office with your parent/guardian, Segment 1 certificate, Social Security Card and your Birth Certificate.

The instructor for the road test was very rude and basically called my daughter insane because she was taught how to parallel park incorrectly. I will NEVER refer anyone to this establishment due to this instructor. I'm also quite disappointed that he knew she was taught incorrectly and instead of talking about the issue, she was belittled and ended up failing her anyways.

We didn't even get a chance to do her actual road test. I do not recommend going here unless your child is pretty much perfect at parking. Not only will he fail your child, he will insult them as well.

Instructor kept rescheduling drives, and didn't have students practice parking (parallel parking, backing in from left- which is on the road test). With how much money people pay, she should be more professional.
