Per OMV regulation, all students must obtain a temporary instructional permit prior to participating in a Driver's Education program. TIP cards are issued, by appointment only, at the Office of Motor Vehicle locations (not issed at Express locations). Students without a TIP card will not be able to attend class, and will need to schedule make up classes during another available session.
Account balances can be paid online, by mail, or via phone. Student's with an outstanding balance will not be able to attend class or participate in behind the wheel training.

For nearly 30 years, Stop N Go Driving Academy has been teaching teens and adults how to become safe, confident drivers. Stop N Go Driving School is approved, insured, and bonded by the Department of Public Safety, Office of Motor Vehicles, and The Louisiana State Police. Since 1992, we have pursued professionalism in the driving school industry.
In order to get a learners permit in the State of Louisiana, the 15,16,17 year olds will need our 38 hour course, 30 hours classroom and 8 hours behind the wheel training. We have these classes year round. You can look under upcoming sessions to see all of the available dates. Temporary Instructional Permit required prior to first class.
Take our comprehensive teen driver education course at our Baton Rouge driving school. Gain confidence behind-the-wheel and learn the rules of the road with our Louisiana state-approved driver ed program. Four 2-hour sessions. All students begin in a parking lot for assessment, then progress in a structured lesson plan.
If you are 17 years old, you must present either a Valid Learner's Permit or a Certificate of Completion for the Teen Driver Ed Course. If you are 18 years old or older, you must present a Certificate of Completion for the Adult Pre-Licensing Course. If you are physically or mentally handicapped, you must complete your road test at the DMV.

I had an excellent experience with Stop N Go Driving. Everyone that worked here was very pleasant and made what I thought would be a dull, tedious experience quite enjoyable. I found that the time flew by during both the classroom and road portions of the course because of the instructors' enjoyable company. I also liked that scheduling driving sessions was easy to do through their website. If you are looking for a driving school I would highly recommend!

Horrible driving instructors and rude office manager. Told me if I were to ever want to reschedule classes all I had to do was contact them via email. Once I contacted them, the lady turned me down and said no I can not accommodate that for you. All I was asking were for 8 hours behind the wheel and they refused service. I went here before and was not taught anything. If you want your child or for yourself to be properly taught behind the wheel, do not go here. Horrible service.

Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident and needed a Defensive Driving Certificate for my insurance. I contacted Stop N Go because I heard they had friendly service. Everyone was so helpful there. I was able to quickly take care of the class and get the certificate. I would 100% recommend Stop N Go, Kay, and Kristin any day! They are true professionals.

I have 3 children and 2 of them had already finished their driving school here. Kristin has always been very prompt at answering every concerns and questions. Every aspect of the experience from the time in the classroom, to driving sessions and the road skills tests were smooth and without any hiccups. The school has also been very accommodating to the ever changing needs of my high schooler's schedule due to Covid restrictions. My youngest will also do his classes there summer 2022 and I highly recommend Stop N Go Driving Academy to many other moms of my acquaintance in Baton Rouge. Chau

I enrolled my then 14 year old in the course. He seemed to enjoy the class instruction part. The instructor was honest about the dangers of driving. I had no trouble scheduling the driving part of the course. They were very organized in providing details in the order of the steps to take to get TIP card, permit and license. Would highly recommend.
