The goal of the New London School of Driving is that all students who go through our course will be safe and responsible drivers. We teach "Joshua's Law" the State mandated course of 30 hours classroom instruction and 6 hours behind the wheel per student. We also teach students that they have moral and legal responsibilities when driving and that the consequences for reckless and careless behavior on the roads are very severe.
This program for young adults was designed and is run by police officers and traffic accident experts. The object of this course is to teach your young adult how to handle a vehicle in emergency situations. Young Adults Under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (or a waiver may be signed) and must have some driving experience.
The lessons consist of 3 two hour sessions where we focus on not just the state mandated required training but also the practical, real-world needs of our students. Our experienced instructors have been professionally trained, and licensed by the State of Georgia. Want to know more? We suggest Students start the Classroom portion of the Course once they receive their Learner's Permit and then schedule the Driving Lessons so that the last one is done close to the date of their Driving Test. The Learner's permit is good for a 2 year period. Your teen can take their driving test 1 year and 1 day after the permit has been obtained (not before), or turn 18 years of age whichever comes first.

Gwen is the best! when driving stayed calm and didn't just say what to do but instead broke things down step by step so I knew what to do throughout the drive. she stayed calm and kept me calm even when I made mistakes. My drives with Gwen were definitely the most helpful ones I had. Very kind and respectful and not hard on new drivers. Definitely recommend Gwen on first and last drives. she taught we what to expect, and how to use those skills while driving. Very calm and collected.

This is my second class at the Driving School so far. I really enjoy and appreciate the fact they have so many really awesome presenters and instructors here. Today we had a truck driver and later a mechanic both come in and talk to us. They both gave us different presentations which was really fun and interesting. The presentations and speakers are great for helping the students retain the knowledge that we're getting.
I took a bunch of pictures of the truck (with permission) I'm only posting a few of them here. Also, just as a note, the classrooms are the double doors just to the right of Dollar General.

Piper was our son's classroom instructor and she did such a great job teaching and built such a great rapport with him that we requested her to be his driver instructor as well. She got him engaged in the material so well that he actually talked about what he learned every day and that is an accomplishment! She was able to instill the confidence he needed to drive solo, parallel park, back into parking spaces, etc. After just a few sessions, I have the confidence to let him drive without worrying every time he leaves the house alone!
